MADE IT!

Hi Everyone! We had a great flight, and received many compliments from the flight crew about the manners and behavior. Good job Delegates and Parents! Some slept alot - some not at all.

We were met at the airport by IZZY, our Delegation Manager. She and her accent are delightful! We boarded our motor coach and headed a bit out of Amsterdam to a family-run business of clog and cheese making - mutually exclusive of one another. haha! McKenzie was selected to assist in the log splitting and making of a clog. Wait til you see what he's bringing home!

We then received instructions on making cheese. You would be so impressed with your kids' knowledge of chemistry and science. Maybe some of you are fermenting things in your own homes....????

Our visit also included lunch, with cheese tasting, and then cheese and clog purchasing! We told you to send your children with a list of items to buy.........lol

We then motored into Amsterdam, walking around getting the lay of the land and the canals! We completely wore your children down to the point they were falling asleep at The Hard Rock Cage - Can you imagine!?

We also encountered a delightful (my word) rain shower/drizzle off and on during the walk about. It proved to be another "European Experience", since it's been a while that most of us walked in the rain....

More walking to get back to the coach (they have to park quite a distance bc of narrow streets) and then to our very nice hotel.

Room check was 8:30, lights out at 9:00. Boy were they ready for bed! Me, too.We just wanted you to understand why you may not have heard from your child. Remember: No news is good news.

Tomorrow, up at 6, bfast at 7, then we begin at Anne Frank's house, followed by bike riding along the dykes, followed by a canal cruise. Tomorrow night, I will strongly encourage another leader to update the blog and post some pics.
